Right now, only about 12 percent of all truck drivers in Canada are under the age of 30 and by 2020, Canada may be lacking up to 25,000 truck drivers according to industry predictions.

Public perceptions about the industry are also often misguided. Truck driving is a skilled occupation and has not been well-marketed in the past.
